The duration of an illness with a gastrointestinal virus depends on various factors. Healthy adult cats can recover after just a few days, while older animals and kittens need a little more time to recover. If the symptoms last longer than two weeks, they may already be chronic. If your cat is struggling with stomach problems such as gastritis, the stomach needs to rest first.
